Professional Coaching for Life Style Changes
Change is inevitable: We live in the midst of a major time of change. For many people this means creating new ways for living our lives. It could mean a change in employment or moving to a new location (or Nation). It could mean simply learning how to move in harmony (adapting in positive ways) with previously unexpected changes. You have to be clear about what you wish to create in your life on physical, emotional, mental and spiritual levels. Living Life More Fully: Are you interested in personal growth and development to be the best that you can be? Have you felt limited or unsure of what to do? If you are then it's time to move from a Problem Orientation to an Ideal Vision. We really learn this when our security base has been threatened and life is asking us to go in a new direction. It is important to believe in yourself and to have a vision regardless of any financial or relational changes. Coaching is an ongoing relationship helping you toward the realization of your ideal vision, goals and desires. Through a process of inquiry and personal discovery you will find that you can create the changes you seek and live more effectively. The Coaching relationship will help you formulate a in-depth plan based upon your life experiences, deal with the blocks and bring the Ideal Vision into Realization.
Far too many people spend 40+ hours a week at jobs that give them little, if any, satisfaction. Erik Erikson formulated eight stages of life. The last stage of our life is called Integrity vs. Despair. The question of this stage is "Did I live my life with integrity." In other words did you fulfill what you really wanted to do? Coaching is designed to help you fulfill your life's Vision. Coaching differs from psychotherapy in that you are not dealing with the past; it is not problem-based, nor is it about releasing painful emotions. It is about solutions and re-creating your life! Individuals are coached to develop their ideal life vision in order to live more satisfying, fulfilling and productive lives. Couples are coached toward goals. Assessments help them to recognize and appreciate where each partner differs in goal orientation and direction. Individual and partner goals are supported into realization. Assessments: Some personality assessments and typologies are given. This testing is not to determine "what's wrong with you," but rather to learn more about yourself. For example, What is your unique leadership and relational style? What are your preferred and natural styles of communicating? Where are your strengths and where are your weaknesses? Timing Saving: The Coaching relationship is considerate of responsible life styles and time. Coaching sessions are limited to an hour. They can occur in person, over the phone, e-mail and/or fax. The Coaching takes place via e-mail, mail, fax and phone. The Coaching Relationship usually lasts from four to six months. Follow-up is available if this is needed. Fees: $65 per session (includes Coaching time on Skype or phone, homework assignments and related email contacts) Call (760) 230-0948 or e-mail at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. Member of the College of Personal Executive Coaching How Valuable is Coaching? By Jeffrey Auerbach, Ph.D., founder of College of Personal & Executive Coaching Is coaching more valuable now than ever? I'm frequently encouraging personal and executive coaches to know how to discuss the value of their role with their potential clients. In the wake of the tragedy of September 11th, many coaches are reporting an increased interest amongst their clients to both discuss personal and spiritual strategies of how to make sure their most important values are reflected in their life, and to discuss business strategy. In terms of personal values, people know more than ever, want to spend more time with their families and loved ones. Moreover, professionals are finding an even more challenging career situation, the need to rethink business strategies, new realities to adapt to, and an even tighter economy. Historically, heightened change has always increased the demand for coaching. The individuals who are seeking personal coaching are increasingly feeling a need to move on against a background of pervasive personal and national concerns. This increases the value of the coach to help the client identify their most important personal agenda and aid the client in maintaining focus on their most important goals. Managers and executives are working in environments where other employees have been let go. So there is increased demand by those continuing at the company to work with a coach as a "thought partner" to help them explore options and weigh alternatives in a tough business climate. Many executive coaches are reporting that some companies who have laid off employees are relying more on coaches and consultants to help support their current staff. For individuals that have been let go, or for individuals that are considering their next career step in difficult times, coaches are helping them 1) inventory what they liked and disliked about the different jobs that they've held; 2) reflect on peak experiences as clues to their particular strengths; 3) identify characteristics of a new job or career that would be satisfying to them; 4) help them identify training that they would enjoy and need for their next step; 5) think strategically about where there are, and are not, promising career opportunities; and 6) identify the next two most important steps they can take to move forward. The core value of coaching, practically, holistically and spiritually, is stronger than ever. Moreover in challenging economic times having some financial data to support the value of coaching is a powerful tool. The best financial analysis of the value of coaching comes from Manchester Consulting (www.manchesterus.com), a global purveyor of executive coaching services. Manchester surveyed their Fortune 1,000 company clients and asked them to give a conservative estimate of the monetary payoff they had received from their coaching experience. These clients had participated in coaching relationships for six months to a year to focus on developing skills and qualities that were linked to higher career performance. These recipients of the coaching services had engaged in coaching programs that averaged $17,000 and they rated their return on that investment as more than $100,000, or six times what had been paid for the coaching. 77% of these coaching clients reported improved relationships with their direct reports, 71% reported improved relationships with their bosses and 61% reported a marked increase in their job satisfaction. (All the coaches that provided service held graduate level degrees.) |
